My students have started to respond to our blog activity. I was wondering if anyone out there studying The Secret River or The Line would like to join us. I would need the teacher and students e-mail addresses to invite you as authors to the blog. I would be able to grant the teacher admin privileges. We are going to start studying The Line in earnest from the 24/8/09. I am hoping I might be able to organise a skype interview with Martin Flanagan that can be uploaded to the blog. During exam preparation I also have an idea for a tribute session which could be streamed to the internet. The premise would be for students to come up with ideas for writing to prompts while they encounter images, music, texts, etc. Getting them used to the idea they will need to respond quickly to a prompt when they get into the exam. These ideas would then be uploaded to the blog.
Looking forward to hearing from anyone interested.
This sounds like a great possability. We are getting into The Secret River now though and that may 'create conflict'. Would we doing it during class time or on their own time?
I would be interested as an observer - my school is not doing either of these texts, - we are doing Omagh and The Crucible - but I would not mind seeing how the blog and other activities go. jgilbert@sjcmda.vic.edu.au
